Modernization has globally unified life. It has affected remote areas in different parts of the world similarly: it changed people’s livelihoods, caused environmental problems, and changed or destroyed local cultures that had continued from the distant past.

Still, traditional livelihoods, old beliefs, and invisible connections to nature can intertwine and form the basis for one’s identity. This is manifested in the silent stories of the land. We believe that now when we are living at the turning point of the modern era, these stories need to be listened to, amplified, and embraced.
As artists of the Artistic team Laavu, we have a background of living and working in rural areas, and our aim is to listen to the voices of the land from our perspective and share some stories with the audience. We wish to deepen their understanding of the land and provide a new opportunity for everyone to recognize their roots.
